The 3rd Annual “Pink it Up!” game will be Monday, May 10 against the Clinton Cardinals. The Pink Tigers will honor Heather Johnson with their first Pink Tiger Courage Award.
The Pink Tigers hosted the 2nd Annual “Pink it Up!” game on May 12, 2009 against state-ranked conference St. Pius X. SPX won a tight, well-played game 1-0.
The inaugural “Pink it Up!” game took place in 2008. The Tigers were defeated by Harrisonville 3-1 , but more importantly raised nearly $2,000 for the Johnson County Cancer Foundation.
The Tigers raise money through a variety of means including magazine and cookie dough sales, the Cookies to Kick Cancer campaign, hat/jeans days for donations during “Pink Week”, and gate collection at the May 12th game with St. Pius and the Old Drum Classic.
St. Pius held fundraisers at their school as well and contributed $1,300.
