COMMENTS

“I was impressed with Bolivar.  The flip throw is an incredible weopon, as you’re just under so much pressure.  Any throw 35 yards and in is like a corner, which is soccer’s most dangerous situation.  They likely threw 20+ balls into the box.”

“Bolivar has played a great schedule so far.  They put a huge scares into Springfield Catholic (early favorite for the Class 1 state championship) and Ozark (state ranked Class 3 team).”

“I couldn’t be much happier with our team.  We came out aggressively, and had created two great chances in the first three minutes.  We’ve worked on being much more physical and employing tactical fouls in the midfield.  The kids are really applying the training sessions of the last couple weeks.”

“We had a bad ten minute stretch where every whistle went against us, Bolivar was raining flip throws on us and we gave up a couple goals because we were a bit disorganized.  The kids got things together and fought the entire 80, and gave themselves a chance to tie it up late.”

“We attacked well throughout and created chances in each segment.  Brenna had a great goal.  We’re playing her out of position as she is most comfortable as a central midfielder or withdrawn playmaker.  Injuries necessitate playing her up top, and she’s a great teammate up to whatever we need and the challenge.”

“We got good looks at goal from Gelbach, Nelson and Dyer.  Each put their chance on frame and gave themselves a chance to score.”

“The great debate now is which of the two district teams that beat us should be the #1 seed.  I really liked Harrisonville’s speed.  Bolivar, with that flip throw and a D1 player, will be difficult to beat down there.
